Privacy
This site counts page views and a few clicks without cookies or stored identifiers, and it has no accounts.
Who runs this site
getavisasponsor.com is run by Ramen Labs Ltd (registered name RAMEN LABS LTD), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17501580.
The operator is the controller for the personal data described here. Write to desk@getavisasponsor.com with any question about it.
What the page counter sends
When JavaScript runs, a small script sends a record of each page view: the page address without any query string, the address of the page that sent you here, and the type of page. It also sends a record when you do one of these things:
- Follow certain links or forms to other websites (where from, and where to).
- Get a result from a tool, with your inputs as broad bands only.
- Copy a script, download the tracker CSV, print, or copy a link.
- Open the tracker's update feed.
What it never sends
- Cookies: none are set.
- A lasting identifier: each page load gets a new random one.
- What you type into a script field or a tool.
- Your name, email or anything you paste.
PostHog processes the counts
The records go to PostHog, an analytics service that processes them on the operator's behalf. The PostHog project is set to discard client IP addresses, and the random identifier cannot link one page view to the next, so the counts describe pages, not people.
Like any website, the server that sends you these pages receives your IP address and browser details in order to deliver them. The reason for counting is a legitimate interest: knowing which pages and tools help readers, so they can be improved.
Browser storage stays on your device
Some features remember what you set, such as your route, your checklist ticks, the name you type into scripts and the Dark and Still switches. That is kept in your own browser and never sent anywhere. Each key and how to clear it is on cookies and storage.
Some tools offer to pass the values you entered, such as an employer name, to another website's tool. Nothing is sent until you press that button.
Your rights under UK GDPR
- Ask what personal data is held about you, and for a copy.
- Ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
- Object to its use, or ask for its use to be limited.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Because no identifier is stored, the counts usually cannot be traced back to you. Emails you send to the desk are kept only as long as needed to answer them. To use a right, write to desk@getavisasponsor.com.
